Really Rapid Instructional Design

Dr. Sivasailam Thiagi

Join ISPI Central Florida November 17!

Participate in this workshop and learn about a unique instructional design approach developed and field tested by Thiagi. Learn to use eclectic principles from extreme programming, agile software development, improv theater, creative engineering, and self-organizing complex systems. Stop using your grandfather’s ADDIE model and jump the curve to Thiagi’s continuous, concurrent, creative, co-design approach. Find the wisdom in such provocative ideas as letting the inmates run the asylum and building airplanes while flying them.

Workshop Content:

Module1. An Experiential Introduction to RRID. Deconstruct a training activity and use the template to immediately design your own activities.

Module 2. Training as Performance Improvement. Select suitable performance improvement interventions to speed up and support training activities.

Module 3. Step by Step? Combine, omit, modify, loop, iterate, and rearrange design steps to achieve agile design.

Module 4. Content, Activities, and Objectives. Use validated templates to rapidly incorporate existing content resources in effective and engaging activities.

Module 5. Changing Roles. Improve your training design by transforming participants into co-facilitators, co-designers, coaches, and evaluators. Also, transform the trainers into facilitators.

Module 6. Evaluation and Continuous Improvement. Integrate six types of valid evaluation techniques with all design steps. Use the evaluation data to prove and improve the training package.

Module 7. E-Learning and Virtual Classrooms. Adapt and apply the 4-Door™ approach to rapidly design e-learning courses and LOLAs (Live Online Learning Activities) to instantly design effective training webinars.
