Feature Panelists:

 

Roxane B. Spitzer, PhD has many years of executive leadership at a number of healthcare organizations and a dedication to helping healthcare organizations and nonprofits thrive. Most recently, she was the CEO at the Metropolitan Nashville Hospital Authority. She has also served as the COO at Vanderbilt University Medical Group Satellite network, the CEO of Managed Care for MEDICUS systems, Corporate Vice President of St. Joseph Health System in Orange, California, and Executive Vice-President of Good Samaritan Hospital, Vice President Patient Care Services for Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. She has received a number of awards, including the AONE Mentor Award for 2011 and Tennessee Hospital Association’s Meritorious Service Award/Chief Executive Officer for 2002.

Under the mentorship of Dr. Peter Drucker, she earned her PhD in Executive Management / Strategic Management, as well as an MBA and MA from Claremont Graduate University in Pomona, CA. She also has an MA in nursing administration from Columbia University. Prior to her postgraduate education, Dr. Spitzer earned a degree in nursing from Adelphi University. Always an educator, Dr. Spitzer has lectured nationally about nursing, management and leadership. She has contributed to academia as a professor at Texas Tech University, Vanderbilt University, and Meharry Medical College.

Dr. Spitzer has authored two books and over 40 articles, consulted and spoken extensively on issues such as managing nonprofit organizations, finance, quality, productivity, strategic management and leadership.

She is currently Editor-in-Chief of Nurse Leader, the official publication of the American Organization of Nurse Executives, and the Vice-President, Executive Strategist for OnSomble, Inc.

 

Timothy R. Brock, PhD has extensive executive leadership and performance improvement experience with the military, education, small businesses, and large corporations. During his Air Force career, he commanded missile combat crews and operational nuclear facilities.  Dr. Brock was also responsible for the technical operations training of all new missile launch officers performing combat alerts at every missile base across the USA.  Before retiring from the Air Force, he was hand-picked to help revise the entire leadership, management, communication, and ethics curriculum for the Air Force’s commissioning program at 148 colleges and universities across the country. 

After retiring from the Air Force, Dr. Brock was the Principal of a private K5-12th grade school and a college Director of Education.  He retired from Lockheed Martin in 2012 where he was the Manager of their Science of Learning and Performance Improvement team for global military, education, and healthcare learning and advanced simulation training solutions. He was the lead human performance systems architect for their winning Crew Exploration Vehicle proposal to NASA to prepare and sustain astronauts for long-duration, deep space mission.  He was also the lead learning and sustainment performance solutions architect to build a new, state-of-the-art initial qualification and sustainment program for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Emergency Call Operations (ECO) National Training Center and ECO Centers across the kingdom.

Dr. Brock is certified in Performance Improvement Technologies (CPT) with the International Society for Performance Improvement (ISPI).  He earned his PhD at Capella University in Education with a specialization in Training and Performance Improvement.  His dissertation topic was “Training NASA Astronauts for Deep Space Exploration Missions: A Research Study to Develop and Validate a Competency-Based Training Framework”.

Dr. Brock is an author, conference speaker, and chair/member of international committees for multiple global professional organizations.  He is the CEO and Founder of The Institute 4 Worthy Performance, an Associate of the ROI Institute, a Practice Leader with The Institute for Performance Improvement, and an Adjunct Professor at two universities.

 

Enderson Miranda, MBA, is the President and Chief Operating Officer at OnSomble, Inc. Enderson works closely with OnSomble’s clients, as his duties include directing and overseeing the client support division. His strategic management functions involve developing and implementing procedures pertinent to the effective and efficient operation of the client support function, such as aligning the best facilitator for each client, as well as ensuring that client service policies and systems support the client’s objectives.

Enderson has over 12 years in management, sales, and leadership experience. He has built and led several teams during his career. Experience also includes coaching, leading, managing, and directing interdisciplinary teams to reach their full potential, despite challenging economic conditions. Enderson’s strengths include building relationships and maximizing all available resources, tangible or intangible, to maximize client outcomes. Enderson earned his MBA from Vanderbilt University, where he’s a member of their Executive MBA Advisory Board. He currently resides in Nashville, TN.

 

Tyler Lummis, MBA, is the Director of Sales at OnSomble, Inc. Tyler manages the relationships of prospective clients and OnSomble’s valued partners. In this role, he implements sales strategy and ensures that the OnSomble story and value proposition are delivered clearly and effectively. Tyler’s software-based knowledge is instrumental in the various uses of OnRole’s data and analytics technology.

Tyler’s background is steeped in technology. Before joining OnSomble, he worked in business development positions at both Apple, Inc. and Dell, Inc., as well as in a development capacity at Teradata Corp. His experience also includes time in Eastern Europe where he worked on several E-Commerce projects and taught a course in Entrepreneurship at Sofia University in Bulgaria. Tyler earned his BBA and MBA from Ohio University, with a focus on Management Information Systems. He currently resides in Nashville, TN

 

 

Shawn D. Mathis, M.A., is a veteran in the technology and professional development industries, having spent the last two decades in start-up ventures that focused on the creation of software tools for the healthcare and executive verticals. Shawn’s passion for advancing individuals and organizations led him to found OnSomble, Inc., where he serves as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.

OnSomble, Inc. is an online role-based professional assessment and development company that meets the professional development needs of clinicians, executives, and organizations through its online, role-based assessments (OnRole) and its web-based professional development platforms and transformational, on-site consulting and coaching services (OnRole Advanced). Under Shawn’s leadership, OnSomble’s products have become highly sought after tools for professionals who want to assess their role competency and enhance their skills, and organizations who desire to transform the day-to-day practice of their professional teams.

Prior to his work with OnSomble, Shawn served as Chairman and CEO of UBI Healthcare Solutions in partnership with Vanderbilt University Medical Center, securing capital funding for UBI and selling the company to AssistMed, Inc., a Beverly Hills, California clinical documentation services company. 

Shawn’s experience with for profit organizations includes general management of mid to large size organizations, corporate development, capital development, product portfolio development, and business development and strategy. Shawn also has an extensive background working with non-profit organizations in marketing, governance, strategic analysis and planning, and volunteer motivation and development.

Shawn is the author of two books on the use of social media to solve the global nurse shortage, and a contributing author on a nursing leadership book. Additionally, Shawn volunteers with international organizations that provide humanitarian aid and educational opportunities across the globe, and is a frequent ambassador for global healthcare initiatives in international summits in nations such as China, South America, Europe, and the United States.

Academically, Shawn holds the Bachelor of Science in Theology, the Master of Arts in Religion and is completing his dissertation for a Doctor of Philosophy in Humanities.

Shawn resides in Nashville, TN.
