Join the Central Florida Chapter of the International Society of Performance Improvement (ISPI CFC) and the Association for Talent Development (CFC ATD) on September 17, 2015 for the SHOW ME THE MONEY Panel Discussion with five thought leaders representing five Central Florida professional organizations.


Meet the Panelists


Peggy Meli, PhD, RHIA, LHRM                                                         

Dr. Peggy Meli is a past-president at ISPI CFC. She is passionate about helping health care providers be successful. Peggy provides consultation on Healthcare Health Information Management and Coding performance improvement and training projects, performing healthcare internal auditing for the mid revenue cycle including clinical documentation and coding compliance audits, legal health record determination and HIPAA. Peggy provides assistance with HIM Operations, Coding and clinical documentation reviews as well as Release of Information and HIPAA, ICD-10-CM/PCS coding, HIM IT coordination and healthcare risk management functions, training and educational solutions for healthcare facilities.


Brian Kingsbury, CPLP

Originally from St. Paul, Minnesota, Brian moved to Florida to pursue his dream of working for Disney. Over the course of 20 years, Brian has held numerous positions with the Walt Disney World Resort and is currently the Training Manager in the Operations Training Department. With a bachelors in Speech/Communications from the University of Minnesota, and a Masters in Leadership from Norwich University, Brian’s training expertise lies in facilitation skills, leadership training, and OJT delivery. Brian has been heavily involved in CFC-ATD, becoming a member in 2008, serving as co-chair of Special Events, VP of Programs, and is now serving as the 2015 chapter President.

Charlotte McDonald, SHRM-CP, PHR

With a Master’s degree from Troy State, Charlotte McDonald has over 20 years of experience in the field of Human Resources. Charlotte has experience leading other professionals in all HR functions, but has the most experience in recruiting and training. She currently works with Holler Classic Automotive Group focusing on recruiting efforts, identifying retention issues and training opportunities, while making sure compliance needs are met. In addition to managing HR teams, Charlotte has mentored professionals, founded the Sebastian Haul Fund, and is the incoming president for GOSHRM.                                                   

Kristin Chase, PHR

Kristin Chase is the Director of the Organizational Development (OD), working in varied areas such as consulting and leading employee feedback surveys, talent management, leadership development, mentoring, selection and assessment tool and competency model development, and team effectiveness. Since graduating from the UCF Masters' program in Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Kristin has participated in many UCF alumni “give back” opportunities such as speaking to the student chapter of SHRM and participating in a graduate panel of alumni from the I/O Psychology program. Kristin also serves the community as a member of the Advisory Board for the Greater Orlando Organization Development (GOOD) and as 2014/15 PTO President for the Montessori of Winter Garden Charter School. She currently lives in Winter Garden, Florida with her husband Nathan, a freelance web designer, and two children, Cameron (6) and Jillian (4).

Valarese Poole, MA, HRM

Ms. Valarese Poole is a human resource contractor in the Orlando area. Since earning her MA degree in Human Resources Management from Webster University, she has accumulated over 30 years of experience in roles such as President of the Space Coast Human Resource Association and member of the HR Florida State Council.  Val has served as a Board Member for the Summer Industrial Fellowship for Teachers (SIFT), the Academy of International Business at Cocoa Beach High School, the Brevard County Equal Opportunity Committee, and the Brevard Personnel Association.  She has also received honors and awards from the Central Florida Chapter of the NAACP and the Space Coast Human Resource Association.  Ms. Poole spends her free time performing for the Back-up Ensemble for the King Center for the Performing Arts and the Cocoa Village Playhouse and presenting at events such as the HR Florida 2013 Leadership Conference, the Space Coast Human Resource Association June 2013 professional luncheon, and the Pratt & Whitney-West Palm Beach Diversity & Inclusion Committee’s Black History Month celebration. She is the proud parent of a son who currently serves in the United States Air Force in Korea.

The three main topic areas for the panel discussion are:
1. How have you communicated the value of your department's work/initiatives/projects to your executive leadership/C-Suite. Have you used metrics like ROI or other measures? What's been effective? What hasn't?
2. The value and role of professional development for yourself and your team, specifically highlighting your leadership role within the professional organization you're representing.
3. The value and personal fulfillment you've gained as a result of your work for your employer, your professional development, and your contribution as a leader of the professional organization you're representing.
